Eating Disorders:Eating Disorder Rehab Programme

Conditions defined by abnormal eating habits that may involve either insufficient or excessive food intake to the detriment of an individual’s physical and mental health. Bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa are the most common specific forms of eating disorder.

Eating disorders are about more than food. They’re complex mental health conditions that often require the intervention of medical and psychological experts to alter their course.

In severe cases, eating disorders may cause serious health problems and may even result in death if left untreated.

Those with eating disorders can have a variety of symptoms. However, most include the severe restriction of food, food binges, or purging behaviors like vomiting or over-exercising.

Although eating disorders can affect people of any gender at any life stage, they’re most often reported in adolescents and young women. In fact, up to 13% of youth may experience at least one eating disorder by the age of 20.

At the Haven Addiction Recovery Centre our experienced therapeutic team understand the highly addictive nature of Eating Disorders. Treatment includes cognitive behavioural therapy, individual counselling sessions and group sessions.
